Introduction to the SMG Computer Labs
The Boston University School of Management Open Access Labs are available to SMG students, students taking an SMG course, SMG Alumni and Hubert H. Humphrey fellows. The labs are designed to promote the use of technology in the School of Management curriculum. The Open Access Labs are located on the third floor of the SMG building in rooms 328 & 340.
To gain access to the labs, you must have an ACS account and an SMG AD account.
ACS is a cluster of UNIX systems which form the heart of the computing resources available to all those at Boston University. Having an ACS account means that this cluster recognizes you as a valid BU user. ACS provides access to e-mail, the Web, statistical and scientific software packages, programming languages, text processing software, and your individual data on file with the University including your grades, contact information and more.Getting an ACS account is a necessary first step before obtaining SMG AD access.
The Microsoft Active Directory® comprises a network architecture adopted by Boston University in 2002. SMG was among the first BU schools to deploy this network technology. If you are an SMG student or taking an SMG class and would like to obtain an SMG AD account, please fill out the online application. If you are unable to submit the form see a lab assistant for help.
